Whether you’ve always dreamed of riding or you’re getting in the saddle for the very first time, our lessons are designed to help you become a confident, capable and independent rider — while always putting the welfare of our horses first.

Complete beginners start with private lessons. This gives you dedicated one-to-one tuition while you learn the essential foundations: balance, position, correct aids, control and, most importantly, how to ride independently. With your instructor focused entirely on you, you can progress at the right pace and build good habits from your very first lesson.

Once you are able to ride independently and safely, a whole new world opens up!

You can progress into our small group training sessions, riding alongside others of a similar ability. Our sessions are varied, challenging and fun, with exercises designed to keep you progressing rather than simply riding around the arena.

As your confidence and skills grow, you’ll also have the opportunity to take part in the many activities, training events and competitions we hold throughout the year.

Our approach is about more than getting riders into group lessons as quickly as possible. We want to teach people to ride properly. Good foundations create confident, effective riders — and riders who are balanced, independent and considerate make life happier and more comfortable for our horses too.

Heading up the team at White Horse Farm is Emma Nuttall, a highly experienced trainer and recognised specialist in Iberian horses, with an impressive record both in the UK and internationally.

Emma has enjoyed considerable success with Spanish and Portuguese horses, including winning the prestigious Spanish and Portuguese Parade Classes at the Royal Windsor International Horse Show six times. She has also broken a Windsor record of being the only person to win both Spanish and Portuguese classes two years in a row.

Her experience extends far beyond the show ring. Emma has represented Great Britain five times in the Masters du Cheval Ibérique Dressage Championships, competing across Europe and gaining invaluable international experience with Iberian horses at the highest level.

But Emma’s expertise isn’t simply about trophies and championships.

It is about understanding the horse — its intelligence, sensitivity, power and individual character — and knowing how to develop those qualities through sympathetic, correct and effective training.

Whether you have a young horse beginning its education, an established horse requiring further development, or you simply want to improve your partnership and get more from your horse, Emma offers training tailored to both horse and rider.

You don’t need to own an Iberian horse to benefit from Emma’s experience.

Bring your own horse to White Horse Farm for individual training and tuition, where Emma can work with you on the areas that matter most to you and your horse.

Alternatively, you can arrange to ride one of Emma’s own highly trained horses, giving you the opportunity to experience the feel, responsiveness and movements of a correctly trained Iberian horse under Emma’s expert guidance.

School Master Lessons

For experienced riders looking to develop advanced dressage skills, White Horse Farm offers the unique opportunity to train on our exceptional schoolmaster horses.

Our highly accomplished Spanish and Portuguese horses have competed successfully at the highest levels of both British and Iberian dressage, allowing riders to learn advanced lateral work, collection, and traditional High School movements rarely available elsewhere in the UK.

You will be trained by one of our team of international riders and judges, alongside these outstanding horses provide an unrivalled learning experience.

Come and spend the day with the ponies learning all about how to take care of them, give them a good pamper and then enjoy a ride.
